He composed two impressive works of supernatural horror fiction. I found it effective but not overly engaging – there are some memorable moments an occult ritual that goes awry, utilizing something akin to a “Hand of Glory”; the initial siege scene with gray slime oozing through the walls; the somber and desperate “Last Supper” and the atmosphere grey skies, storms, misty vistas is top-notch.

Those who are looking for a different kind of historical adventure novel, or are interested in stories set during the English Civil War, might also adriwn much to enjoy but it should be stated that these elements are mere backdrop to what is, in essence, a moody Gothic “Curse” story.
